A recipe that I want to share with you for a long time. The first time l heared of it, was from my sister and i was not impressed. Oats are not that common in Greece. After my initial hesitation, I confess i end up loving porridge and I honor it everyday. Is a rich breakfast that will keep you full for the longest. It reduces cholesterol, accelerates metabolism and has a low glycemic index. Research also
shows that it contributes to longevity. Something the Anglo-Saxons know and have for centuries now in their diet.
For a bowl of porridge:
1 cup of milk
5 tablespoons porridge oats
1 tablespoon of honey
Cinnamon for serving
Put the milk, oats and honey in a saucepan and boil for about 5 minutes stirring as often as you can until it becomes a nice creamy porridge. Remove and serve with cinnamon.
-You can enrich it with fresh or dried fruit, nuts and chocolate chips.
-For a lighter version, you can use low-fat milk or water.
Fast, easy and delicious. A real fuel for our body, porridge has become a great morning or evening solution for light meal.
