Ingredients for our wonderful recipe:
250gr. pumpkin puree
1 & 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
450gr. all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup of sugar (about 200gr.)
cinnamon, raisins, walnuts according to our taste
What you have to do:
Before we start the easy preparation for our bread roll, we preheat the oven to 170ºC ( 340° F ) degrees .
We will need a big bowl where we will mix all our materials. Firstly, we will pour the water, yeast, sugar and stir until the yeast melts. Then add the puree from the pumpkin, stir and pour the salt, the flour, the cinnamon, the raisins and walnuts we like.
Αfter we have well blended our mixture and made a dough, we will allow it to double on an oiled bowl for an hour.
It is time to give shape to our pumpkins. We divide our dough in about 10 small balls. Taking a piece of dough and some string for kitchen uses will wrap it around the dough to give the shape we see in the pictures, we can draw it in 8 points so that we have it as a «guide». We bind the edge and likewise do the rest. We bake them to 170ºC ( 340° F ) degrees for about 25 minutes and remove the string after they cool down. They can be served with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
Wouldn’t these be great for Halloween treats? So unique and even more yummy.
A good idea would be to make our pumpkins in their salty version using zucchinis instead of pumpkin and cheese.
